Flooding, wildfire, power outages and an aging sewer system all threaten the Coastside. Debbie is building the regional partnerships needed to fix them.
Half Moon Bay cannot solve watershed, shoreline and sea-level-rise problems within city boundaries alone — regional coordination is required to get technical expertise, plan projects, and compete for outside funding. As Chair of OneShoreline, Debbie leads that regional effort for the Coastside.
Debbie's priorities include completing evacuation planning and an emergency communications plan with county emergency management. She is also working with the County and PG&E to reduce power outages and with communications providers to improve the Coastside's communications infrastructure. She supports consolidating the Coastside's three-agency sewer Joint Powers Agreement into a single, better-financed special district, a step recommended by multiple grand jury reports.
