Parks, trails and public recreation are what residents say they want most, right alongside fixing traffic. Debbie has helped deliver — and keeps pushing for more.
From the Coastal Trail to Poplar Beach, public recreation defines daily life on the Coastside. Debbie has worked to bring local, county, regional and state partners together to fund and build the trails, parks and beach amenities residents use every day.
Debbie wants to do a better job maintaining existing trails, start work on the Pilarcitos-to-the-Sea Trail connecting downtown to the Coastal Trail, complete the SR1 Eastside Parallel Trail from El Granada to Miramontes Point Road, and extend the Naomi Patridge Trail. She also supports implementing the Magnolia Park development plan, planning formal volleyball courts with restrooms, completing operations planning for Carter Park, and implementing the Smith Field Master Plan — plus clean-closure planning for the old Poplar Beach county dump to reopen it for future recreation.
